Nasogastric feeding involves the placement of a thin plastic tube into the nasal cavity and down into the stomach, and is used to provide nutrition and medicines directly to a patient where there are issues or difficulties with swallowing, or for those who can’t take solid food or oral medicines for a variety of medical reasons.
